A number of game tools will be available to Basic members:
Skill Editor:
You basically get to be a choreographer. You can move your character's limbs around any way they will swivel. You will see a 'strength requirement' meter, a 'motion' meter, and a 'damage' meter which will tell you what happens. You can freeze-frame and edit your character's muscle output to make it push itself into the air, then allow physics to take hold for a few frames, then make your character catch itself in a landing. The skill editor can also be used offline with imaginary objects.
Real Time Control:
You can switch this option on in order to take control of a situation which you don't know how to plan. This is useful when, for example, sniping, or when you are just playing around with a shovel or making your character do random things. In this mode, you may also use preset skills. Eventually you will just map the automatic skills such as 'walk right' and 'walk forward' and such to the keyboard or walk toward point using the mouse. The most basic skills will already be made for you, so you don't have to worry about skills at all if you don't want to.
Health Monitor:
This is a panel that you can look at to better understand how your character is feeling. One tab will show muscle fatigue, another will show muscle strength, another will show effects like wounds and potions. A similar tool to the health monitor allows you to inspect other objects based on your character's ability to observe.
Information Database:
The information database is the tool that collects information from interaction with the environment. It is your view into your character's memory. There are several sections such as a journal for you, a health history, a news and gossip section, a personal map, and other things.
Game Element Sampler:
The element sampler allows you to select items from the game for later use, either in the skill editor, for collecting souvenirs, or even element sampling for DNA manipulation. Simply go to this mode, and once your target item lights up, click it, and it is saved. You can also save multiple things all together as a set. This allows for much more fine-tuning for missions.
Gossip Machine:
This tool allows you to automatically send data to another player when you directly interact, such as getting very close and speaking, or trading. It acts as a homogenizer of information for small and large towns, in a way that doesn't make you socially dependent on other players, eg, you don't need to be their best friend. In this way, a total stranger can figure out where he/she can find a good job, or the local market, or any information people choose to publically display.
